Located in the heart of Brussels, Amazone is a bilingual organization dedicated to women* and the associations that carry out their struggles. A dynamic place of information, support, awareness and training, Amazone closely follows the feminist movement in Belgium and participates in the creation of social, cultural and professional links in the field of promoting gender equality. Amazone was founded in 1995 by Miet Smet, then minister and secretary of state, responsible for the policy of equal opportunities between women and men. The initial goal was to provide infrastructure to various groups of women who, at the time, did not have a place to develop properly. The aim was not only to provide better accommodation and infrastructure for women's organizations, but also to create a place for meeting and networking. Amazone promotes intersectional feminism, which takes into account the many additional discriminations (in addition to sexism) that sexized people experience. The organization has an association center, a social integration restaurant as well as a conference center and an information center.

It is great when you find someone that shares your views on human rights and is willing to put their time and effort in improving what they saw as injustice. This happened many years ago with Anna, Tatiana, Catia, and Andreia. Thus, we took the lead and registered Stichting CAAT Projects in January 2016. We started our operations in The Hague, together with other organizations, like the The Hague Youth Factory. Years later we moved our operational centre to Amsterdam, to the OT301 building, in a close cooperation with Home of Participation. The social actors in CAAT have changed and we now we have integrated other colleagues as Marik and Tom, as well as David, Marzieh and Joe in our board. We have also the pleasure of collaborating with an enthusiastic group of volunteers and friends. Despite the changes in location and team, our core value continues the same – human rights for all. We will keep on building an impressive record of successful projects in the Netherlands and abroad, achieving the goals set in the organizational planning. Moreover, CAAT Projects has also been delivering on the requirements of the EU funded projects and bringing people together from various backgrounds. The Women’s Initiatives for Gender Justice is an international women’s human rights organisation that advocates for gender justice through the International Criminal Court (ICC) and through domestic mechanisms, including peace negotiations and justice processes. Swing Amed is an organisation that sources the Swing-era legacy of so-called golden age of jazz music. After the first workshops held by Hakan Durak and Ilgın Nazlı Barutçu in Diyarbakir in October 2017, we continued our work with various activities until today.
